I just installed an AVIC D1.

It says "Please eject the disc and insert the appropriate disc again."

I reinsert the disc and it says "Checking Disc", then the same error appears. Both East and West discs do this. It is a new unit.

I inserted the DVD in the lower slot, label up.

The discs are labeled "Version 1.2 Application Disc for AVIC-D1", and appear to be authentic.

Any suggestions or should I pull it out and exchange it?

Just sent it back to the vendor. I tried dics from another D1 and it couldn't read them either. It appears I had a bad unit.
