i have a grounding question, i have read through all the ground sticky, but i did not seem to get this question through, would it be okay if my ground wire gauge was thicker diameter than my power cable?

yes that is perfectly fine.... just make sure the ground is either the same size or larger than your power cable

Yes it would be okay.  The ground wire must be at least as large as the power wire.  In addition, the wire from chassis to battery must also be as large, and larger is better as it also has other duties.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

okay...so this is the situation, i have a Nissan Maxima 96 i had two separate wirings running from my battery, one for my sub amp and one for the voices, for the sub amp i had a 8 gauge cable and for the other amp i had a thinner cable, both of the cables were wired separately on the battery. i decided to strip both cables out and replace both cables with a single 4 gauge cable and a power distributer for two eight gauge outings. i have a long (5 feet) of 4gauge black cable, i was wondering if i could use the cable for my grounds due to the current size of the power cables (8 Gauge)...thanks for the responses posted_image
