Hey everyone, I have had a couple of people ask me about Dual car audio equipment. I am not to familiar with it. I think they are fairly new to the market. As well manufactured somewhere in Quebec. Being from Canada myself it would be nice to support another Canadian company....if they are any good. (most questions have been about the head units) My personal opinion is they look a little to busy and might be trying to compensate for something (Audiobahn theory). But that is why I am here....i could be completely wrong! Thanks in advance for the replies.

Low end company from what I've seen, so probably not very high quality. They're very affordable though if thats what someone is looking for. I've personally never seen any real problems -- i.e. major things going wrong but thats just me and what I've noticed, never researched.
I've seen a lot of their pre-fab bandbass boxes with loaded subwoofers in teenagers cars. I work at Best Buy (Home Theater) but I do know we carry an array products from subwoofers to speakers to cd decks.
Their bandbass box with the loaded 12" woofers and neon for the "hip" kids sells more than anything else.

I second that. They do suck.

I'll verify. Got one for fiance, only cause she has no problem listening to the stock speakers in the 96 Ford Aerostar (if you've ever heard it, you know what I mean). So the quality of the HU didn't make any difference. I used the money I saved on some other equipment. If you like listening to something other than AM talk radio, don't get a Dual! ------------- The Flakman
I feel strange. I have deja vu and amnesia at the same time.

simple answer, NO. I am an installer for BB and you wouldnt belive the problems I've seen w. them. the amps overheat and fry,the subs are far overrated...and they fail....speakers have a high s/n ratio and sound like saggy butt, the head units have alot of problem too, things like after a few weeks the mechanical face stops working, the buttons are all mixed up ( pause mutes the radio etc etc.) ....Canada is really good at hockey, dual really sucks at mobile electronics, nuff said

I agree with the headunits. Complete crap. But I think all you other best buy installers can agree that you have been able to make those bandpass subs hit pretty hard. They are good for the price(the subs that is). Stick away from headunits.

They will hit alright for what they are...but the sound quality is not even there

Yeah I know a number of people with the preloaded bandpass neon box and they seem to love it but only because it's loud, they know it has no SQ

Heres a very great general rule to go buy. If you can buy it at walmart, its not high end equipment. Walmart sells duals.

everyone that has ever heard of dual knows that they suck and are a waste of money. yes they are cheap and kids looking to add big bass go into best buy and listen to them. but the thing is at best buy they are hooked up to rockford and kenwood amps that push alot of power. sq sucks and they arnt all that loud. the head unit that dual makes where the front face slides down to reveal a display are a waste of money. i bought one for my girlfriends car and after about a week of her messing with it the faceplate got stuck so i ripped it out and took it back to walmart. the stock tape player with a cd player hooked up to it sounded better then the dual did. if you can buy two subs with a box that had neon on it for 150 bucks. look away and spend your money on somthing worth while.

Fact: All amps in a Best Buy test center are turned down so that any of the subwoofers can be played with any of the amps without killing them.
edit ----- without killing them in a very short time. i'm sure you could kill them if you left them going with something with too much power.
