Ok. first off, the setup I have is a Pioneer 580mp mp3 player, 4 pioneer 6.5" 3 way speakers, Phoenix Gold Octane 8:0:1 mono channel 800 watt amp, and two audiobahn 12s. I am wanting to add a third sub to my system. Do you think that amp will be able to push 3 subs? The speakers are single voice coil so I was going to run the wires from the positive on the amp to the positive on the first speaker to the + on the second speaker to the + on the third speaker. And the same for the negative on the amp to the - on the three subs. I am also wanting to get some new highs also with and amp running to them. I was going to get a Phoenix Gold 4 channel for those. What would you recommend for highs. I would like to get the speakers off ebay if possibe. Also at night my lights dim when the subs hit. Would a capacitor help the dimming if I add a third sub and another amp, or would another altornator be better. Any info would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that amp is only 2 ohm stable, so assuming your subs are 4 ohms (not specified), adding one more sub to that amp would not be a good idea. Your equipment could be damaged, or just not work because the amp may go into protection mode. If you tell us why you wanted another sub, we have several members on here that could give you better options of achieving what you want.
As far as your light dimming, I'd definitely upgrade the alternator and the "big 3". It's not just an annoying problem, but it's also hard on your whole vehicle's electrical system. Once your charging system is up to snuff (and only then), you can add a capacitor if you so desire, but it's not a necessity. It can help maintain a more consistent system voltage, but this is not usually a concern with a healthy alternator/battery.

First...adding a third sub won't make it sound much louder...secondly I don't think your amp can handle the impedance load of adding another sub in parallel.
A 4 channel amp will always help improve sound from your interior speakers...a capacitor is just a band aid solution and will not fix your lights dimming...upgrade your big three first!!!
Instead of buying new speakers and a 4 channel amp get a good 4 channel first and see how you like it.

I think I would add as well...if it is more bass you are looking for, the subs and/or enclosure could be the problem. The AudioBurn subs (credit to haemphyst) can be outdone by quite a few other decent subs, especially with 800 Watts.
