I don't want to pay for a distribution block when I can get my power/ground distributed with ring terminals. Will this cheap terminal work good enough for a 200 wrms + 400 wrms amp combo?

Terminal 1

Or should I pay more and get this?

Terminal 2

Gold is a better conductor than copper..

Go big or go home. Go for the gold.

I have to disagree with you on what is a better conductor. Copper is a better conductor that gold.

"Properties and Uses.

Because of its many desirable properties, such as its conductivity of electricity and heat, its resistance to corrosion, its malleability and ductility, and its beauty, copper has long been used in a wide variety of applications. The principal uses are electrical, because of the extremely high conductivity of pure copper, which is second only to that of silver."

Thank you, Flakman! ANOTHER talking out of turn smackdown! pwn3d!!!!1!

Not to mention the fact that BOTH of those terminals are copper inside. The only difference is the plating.

Teminal 1 will work fine, I use them on bulk kit installs. If you want it pretty and shiny get the gold ones.

Exactly and IMO the gold looks better, but would it have a noticable affect on the terminals conductivity?

Absolutely not. It will slow oxidation, so the terminal MIGHT last a little longer, but otherwise? No difference at all.

If anything I think terminal 1 would be a better conductor than the gold plated terminal, because its bare metal to metal connection...

I don't know if it will make a noticable difference or not since the other side of the electron path is going through the steel body of the vehicle for ground, which is probably not as good as the gold plating on the copper (or is it...haven't checked on that).

Cool, so I'll just get the bare copper terminals. I don't need it to be shiny, especially when it'll be covered with insulation.
