Hey guys, I've been out of the install loop for a couple years now but recently picked up a classic Lanzar Optidrive 2500 amp. It has two power wire inputs and two ground wire inputs, my question is, is it ok to just hook each two together then connect to my power wire that's ran from the battery or do I need to run another power wire. I'm assuming (that could be trouble, lol) that it would be fine with the ground wires hooked together? Thanks.
All connections of like polarity are parallel when they use the same electrical source, so it doesn't make any difference as long as the power wire you are using is large enough for the task. That is to say, if you DID use two different power wires, and they both ran to the same battery, you could test for continuity and find that the two wires are connected to each other...which is the same thing electrically as connecting the two amp terminals to one wire. Same applies for ground wiring.
If it were me, I would use a fused distro block with one input / two outputs before the amp, treating it as if were two amps. The amplifier may not accept the gauge wiring you want to use for both terminals. And again, same thing with ground, only with an unfused block.

Thanks for the reply. I had already picked up a dist box figuring that would be the way to go, just wanted to make sure. I managed to get the amp for a whopping $10 at a sheriff's auction, it had been sitting on a theft evidence shelf for 4 yrs! Who would've thought a slow justice system would net me a cheap amp, lol.
