hi i cut my bass knob wire and i need to replace it but i cant find it anywhere...it looks like a phone line but i tried a phone line and it did not work..please help me...

take the end that still has the plug on it, and go to Radio Schack, or for that matter your local Fred Meyer, or Walmart.

Number of wires and the posistion of the wires on the plug, is all that matters. Well....plus the same size plug!

some phone wires only have 2 wires. If you get a phone wire with all 4 that may work. But if thats what you tried earlier when it didnt work :-/ splice it up?

Typical phone line cord is only 4 wires. Some amps use 6 wire line cord. I would buy a complete cable to fit your needs unless you are splicing. Not everyone has 4 and 6 wire RJ-11 crimpers. I have about 4, but I crimp a lot of network and phone cables.

The cables are "crossover" type. Pin 1 on one end is pin 4 (or 6) on the other end.

Using a standard phone cable, you would have to flip one end over, before you crimp it down.

Tricky amp manufacturers, trying to easily change something to make the average consumer need to buy their 15 dollar 15 foot chord, that could otherwise be available for 2 dollars at any store. posted_image
