Hi, I got a Pioneer Avic N2 for my 2000 Impala ls. I have everything installed in my car and everything works fine as far as the screen, navigation, movies, cd's, etc. However, no noise is coming out of my speakers. I bought the harness for it a couple of years ago for a different cd player, and the harness cost a lot of money. It worked fine for my other cd players, which makes me wonder why it wouldn't work for this one. I have power through the harness, so i don't think it is necessarily the harness itself. I tried skipping the harness and going directly from the cd player to the speakers. Noise would then come out of the speakers fine for like 30 seconds, then go away, and then a constant, extremely annoying noise would start up for the rest of my drive. It wouldn't even go away after I took the face off, I had to stop the car to get it to stop. If i restarted the N2 or my car, it would go through the same process of noises every time. I heard that wiring it directly to the speakers is a bad idea, so I unhooked those wires and redid them through the harness. Of course it still didn't work.
I saw on a post from last year that somebody else had the problem in a 2002 chevy tahoe. Somebody told them that they should hook up the blue/white wire to the turn on lead of the stock amp. However, the person who asked never said if it worked or not. Does anybody know if that would really fix it?
If it is a good way to fix it, do you know what color the turn on lead is for a 2000 impala ls. There are about 20 different wires going into the amp, so I want to make sure i connect it to the right one and don't mess anything up. Any help would really be appreciated.
Also, if you happen to know what color the wire is that I need to hook up the speed sensor to and where I could connect to that at, I would really appreciate that as well. Thanks in advance.
Yeah it sounds like your factory amp isn't running. If you used a metra/scosche harness, just connect the blue wire to the blue/white of your new stereo.

Thanks! I somehow missed the wire the first time cuz it was with all of the rca's. I got that fixed and sounding good now. If anybody knows where to connect my speed sensor wire (2000 impala ls) please help. Thanks
Vehicle wiring is to the left of this screen. Select your vehicle and go to cruise control: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=2000&make=Chevrolet&model=Impala&ID=17425&type=Cruise
