I am in the process of installing a jensen 500watt amp for two 10" subs. I have already dragged and hooked up all of the wires needed. I checked the voltage being put out by the power wire and its 12v. The remote is hooked up to my pioneer 6400 deck to the antenna cable. The amp just will not turn on, I'm  lost on what to do.

Try turning on just the radio.  Some HU's only supply juice to the power antenna wire when the radio (not CD or tape player) is on.  If this is the case, you'll need to rig the remote to something else.  Cigarette lighter works, but you have to install a toggle/rocker switch to manually turn the amp on and off

remote wire needs 12 volts to power up your amp - try connecting your remote turn on lead to your switched ignition wire
