I am running a 1989 Dodge Omni, and i have recently acquired a Sanyo amplifier and a speaker set. I want to install this system into my car, using the stock deck, until i get a newer one. I have ran into this problem, The amp, as it should, has a relay drive, or remote on wire, which i was going to hook up to my deck. However, the deck being so old, does not have such a connector. So my problem is that i would run it to some other power lead, however i did not know what voltage the remote on ran at. So, does anyone know what voltage the remote on connector runs at, and if so, can i just run it to the hot elad going to my radio if it is 12v?

Most radios have a power antenna wire (regardless if the vehicle actually has a power antenna).  Hook up the remote lead to this wire, it's usually blue with a white stripe.  This will allow the amp to turn on when the HU comes on.  If it still doesn't come on, then the power antenna wire may only get juice if the radio (not CD or tape player) is on.  You could also hook it to the cigarette lighter wiring and add a toggle/rocker switch to manually turn the amp on and off.

Amp turn on is 12v.. you can use the ant up wire on most decks, but depending on the deck, I would use a relay to turn it on.. or, just hook it up to the 12v+ switched at the radio.. the amp will come on when you turn on the ign..

All you have to do is hook the remote lead to any acc wire.  It can either be at the radio or at the ignition harness.  All this wire has to do is go +12 volts when the key is in acc and in run.  You should also probably put a small fuse inline with this wire that way if the wire shorts out it won't blow the radio fuse or worse.
