I have an Eclipse SW8122 DVC sub; each voice coil is 4 ohm I am powering this with a Clarion DPX1000.2 amp. I am wiring the voice coils in parellel so the amp will see 2 ohms. The amp will be running too ohms bridged, and in this configuration is rated at able to run 1000 watts RMS!! I know this amp is a bit overrated though, so I figure the sub will be seeing 500-700 watts rms. My question is this; is 16 gauge speaker wire enough to wire up the voice coils and the sub to the amp? any input would be appriciated.

16 is plenty big enough...there's really no differences in 12 gauge or 16 gauge speaker wire if you listen back to back

8, 10, or 12 gauge for subs.
14, 16, or 18 gauge for mids and highs.

Just use common sense for each application, the more wattage the larger the gauge.

The average for sub wiring is 10-12 guage.
The average for mid/highs wiring is 16 guage

If I got the specs right on that sub, it's rated 500RMS and 1000Peak. Watch how hard you push them with that amp, and watch the gain setting. Eclipse makes an excellent speaker, so you should be ok.

Where do I get 8-10 gauge speaker wire? Do I use 8-10 gauge power cable?

You can use power cable if you want to. It can be more difficult to route though because the strands are thicker depending on what type of wire you use.

Check out KnuKonceptz
Look at the Speaker Wire section. Their Karma line ranges from 8awg to 16awg, and their KASA line ranges from 10awg to 14awg.
