just today my cd player stopped turning on i dont know why it wont turn on it has for like a year ummm i took the dash off to try and fix it and i dont see nething wrong with it ..does anyone have any clue what the problem could be?

Have you used a meter or test light to check if it's getting power?  Have you checked the car's fuses?

i had an old clarion that would overheat (usually in the summer time) it had a power reset..A little hole with button inside, on the faceplace ( had to use a paper clip or something really small)..just a thought

You don't need more ideas yet......troubleshooting should be taken one step at a time.

If it has constant and switched power, and a good ground, then the radio is broken and needs to be fixed.

If any of those three wires has trouble, it's possibly a blown fuse---but usually the fuse blows because something is wrong, which again, will need to be fixed.

So as you can see, if we made one long post about how to fix radios, AND how to fix wiring, in the same post.........it would take forever.  Instead, it's better to first narrow down the problem to one specific area, and then it'll be much simpler to deal with.
