im getting a box built for the 2 solo x's.  instead of double thick 3/4" mdf, the builder was going to use just single thickness, but reinforce the entire inside with a few layers of fiberglass. will that be good enough? or do i have to do double thick wood? and can my speakers be in the same box? or should i do seperate chambers?

Seperate chambers for each speaker. I would say no on the fiberglass, I doubt it will even come close to the strength of 2 3/4" layers of mdf. Unless they plan on using many, many layers in which it is going to cost a fortune.

As long as the box is properly braced, 3/4 MDF is goin to be sufficient. Bracing is key to having a box with no panel flex.

Possibly 1" on baffle and at least 3/4 wall with bracing
and silicone corners. Those subs move alot of air, if box not built per specs., it will destroy it.

ok so i've decided that me and my dad can handle building the box.  it is for two 12" solo x's plus a few speakers.  it is going to take up the whole trunk spaace in my explorer which is alot of room.  i want to port the box, its going to have 3 total chambers, a little seperate on for the speakers, and two seperate ported chambers for the subs.  whole box done in double thick 3/4 " MDF with fiberglasased rounded edges to fit the roof.  i would like some design tips? also some ideas on what to tune it to and the best design for the ports.  it is for everyday use but i want it to SLAM.  (3000 watts rms going to the subs)

In WinISD you can make the port however big you want and however what tuning you like.

It depends on box size
