can it be done without spendind a crapload of $$ on waterproof subs and amps... i was thinkin on welding a metal box to my bed then putting a smaller wooden box inside holding 2 12's inside of a metal casing and running the wiring from the cab to the bed through a tube welded inbetween the bed and cab goin straight through to inside the metal box... but i dont kno if it will produce sound because of it being completly sealed so no water can go inside and wear away the subs... help please!!!posted_image

what are you trying to accomplish?    music outside the car?   Generally subs dont sound to great outside the car. Besides that there is no "waterproof" equipment, just water resistant..if you let it set out in a good rain it would be junk.

First thing we need answered is what Are you trying to do?

Build a bandpass box and use flex tube as the port from the bed to the cab. Don't weld anything from the bed to the cab as they will need to flex. A friend of mine had 2 Volcano 15" subs in a 91 Chevy SS. He used a tonue cover on the bed to keep the water out. Amps where mounted behind the seats. Over the ports coming in from the cab he put 5 1/4" speaker grills to hide the ports. Run the wires out the bottom of the cab to the bottom of the bed and up. If you want, now days, you can use spray/roll on bed liner to waterproof the boxes. A simple bolting down of the boxes will do.
