Hello,

I'm installing a Kenwood DDX6019 Double Din headunit, and a KNA-G510 Kenwood/Garmin Navigation system.  Both have VSS and Parking Brake wires, can these be bypassed by grounding them or is it more complicated than that?

I'm installing this system in my father's car, while the need for video while driving isn't necessary he doesn't want to navigation display to suffer while in motion.

Advice is appreciated...

Unfortunatly if the unit is a DVD player we are not supposed to instruct on how to bypass it due to legalities. Even if the operator has no "intentions" of viewing DVD while driving. Just the way it is.

However, grounding the VSS will accomplish nothing, might even cause problems.

Many new nav systems can work pretty well without hooking up the VSS but some features may not be assesable and I can't say for sure if on the kenwood this will effect accuracy.

I would hook it up if having any doubts. Where I live there are no tunnels or really anything that can block the reception so on certain models they have performed flawlessly without the vss.

But not on all so it is a crap shoot. Good Luck.
