I am trying to choose a system, and would like to know will  2 12" subs rated at 1200 rms hit harder or 1 15" rated at 1500 rms connected to an amp rated at 2400 watts max, 1800 rms at 1 ohm, 1400 rms at 2 ohm. Thanks in advance

All depends on the installion and vehicle and enclosure.

What make and models of equiptment are you asking about...because crappy brands are way overrated and the numbers are overflated.

the 2 12"s will have more cone surface area so in general, they will move more air.

The real question is?   This amp, is it really capable of 1800WRMS?   Please name make and model.

and will the subs really handle 1200-1500WRMS    Name make and model please

Then if they both produce/handle the power, it will come down to enclosure construction and being able to provide the power that the amp needs to run.

Thier are alot of varibles that come into play and we need to know what type of equipment is being used so we can make proper judgement.

The amp is the Power Acoustik a2400DB

the sub would be 2 power acoustik mofo 12's or mofo 15'

You didn't BUY that stuff yet, did you? I kinda had a feeling you were talking about PA from your opening post, it's a common answer when people start talking about power numbers like that.

Neither the amp OR the speakers are even CLOSE to their claimed capabilities! If I had to guess, that amp'd be lucky to ever do 900 to 1000 watts with less than 10% distortion. What'd you pay for that amp? 200 dollars? I have a 2000 watt amp in my trunk, with "Eclipse" badged all over it, and my cost was 1100 dollars. You CANT get that kind of power for 200 dollars.

As far as the MoFo's? More chrome plated garbage. My Eclipse amp would drop those things like a bad habit, at only 1000 watts per channel.

Again, you have to spend good money to get honest ratings in equipment. I am really sorry to have to tell you like this, but honesty is the best policy, and I will not be the only person to tell you this, either. The PA stuff is on a par with Audiobahn, Rockwood, Kenford... It is money FAR better spent elsewhere, on WAY better equipment. For a LITTLE more money, you can get into better equipment.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES....I WILL PROBABLY STAY AWAY FROM THE MOFO AND AMP. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON 2 LIGHTNING AUDIO X1.10.VC2'S?  I ALSO WANT TO KNOW IF THE LANZAR OPTIDRIVE AMPS ARE WORTH IT.

First, kill the caps lock, please. Nobody likes being shouted at.

Secondly, the LA is VERY entry level Rockford, and so in my opinion, I'd avoid those too, as I have never been a big fan of the Rockford Fosbreak stuff, in the first place.

Thirdly, the Lanzar is nowhere NEAR the quality it used to be.

Instead of you asking us what we think of such and such, which could take till the 16th of forever, how about you tell us your budget, what you want to acheive, and let us supply you with some opinions from there.
