So i was at work today surfing ebay looking for  a CHEAP SIR-ALP1 for my IVAW200 when i came across a SIR-ALP2C. My question is from what i read the SIR-ALP2C is made for Canada and im wondering if it can be used in the US like from florida...and i was also wondering why there is a 2nd genereation for Canada but not for the US. Pioneer came out with theres not too long ago why not alpine....?

Simple logistics. CRTC which regulates program contents in Canada delayed Satellite radio because they wanted Canadian Content with a percentage of French. Either a USA or Canadian tuner will function in either Canada or USA but in order to sign up for Canadian content using a Canadian receiver, you need a Canadian address. Same for Sirius USA.
