I have an sp intelipower 9180 80 amp power supply in my van, the distribution block that have it connected to gets very hot to the touch (after about 10 minutes without the system on). I have 3 zapco amps, a 12 farad audiobaun capacitor and an audio control epicenter connected to the same distribution block. I have the output power (on the power supply)connected to the distribution block and the ground wire is very secure. The chassis ground on the power supply is secured to a different ground location, about 2 feet away. I measurred the output voltage on the power supply at 13.6 volts and my battery voltage (resting) is at 12.4 volts. I have already sent the power supply back to select products and they told me that it works fine. Is this normal.

Hey, bonus points for a well written & explained question!

I don't know that unit, but if you have a part heating up that shouldn't then you probably have a short somewhere. The thing that pops up for me is that capacitor, I'd try disconnecting it just to see if it solves the problem.
