Hey i have a 2002 oldsmobile alero gls and i'am wanting to replace my factory 6x9's with aftermarket clarions and i got as far as ripping everything apart and now i'am stuck with 4 wires as oppose to the 2 wires available on my new speakers.

I believe it is the monsoon system i have and i have heard that it is bi-amped which i understand but what i would like to know is how to properly install these speakers without splicing before the factory amp??? Or if it is possible, and if it is how to???

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Would like to keep the car as stock as possible so buying a new HU is not necesarilly an option for me.

Thanks

Hey again,

Ok i think i might have it figured out but i thought i wiuld double check. do i hook the positive tweeter and the positive subwoofer wires together onto my new speakers single positive terminal and vice versa???

Sorry but I' am kinda new to this and i don't really understand what these diagrams are saying. Could someone break it down if i am incorrect and simply state to me as to which wires out of the 4 i hook to positive and which i hook to the negative terminals on my new speakers???

Thanks

what you need to do is locate the wires going to the tweeters(hopefully they are acessible, if not , better get some that are) on the clarion 6x9's and snip the wires and connect the factory pair that  powered the factory tweeters to these and connect the other pair of factory wires to the "sub/midbass driver" portion. All the factory monsoon system did is wire it like components tweeter has one set of wires and midbass driver another, no crossover, they are internally crossed over by the factory amp. hope this makes sense.
