I have a 2006 H2 Coming in for a full system. The vehicle is equiped with the OEM rear seat entertainment package (Headrest screens). Does anyone know if an adaptor or interface is needed to reuse the screens as slaves to the new video unit (eclipse AVN660) that is going into the dash?

Oh darn. I thought this thread title suggested something much juicier than that... ------------- Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

See if the units have a factory AUX input, if they do all you need is a simple rca y cable from the Eclipse to each screens AUX inputs. Ideally I would use a driver type device like the Farenheit VN-421, this is a 4 input switcher to 4 output device.

What exactly did you have in mind with more juicy? Rob, if there was an aux input where would I look for it? Is there a chance there isn't an AUX, and what should I do then?

Something has to drive the screens, be it a dvd or vcr or whatever. That means that there is a video feed to the screens. Time to find the feed wire and splice into it. Chances are better than the average bear though that there is aux input on something.

There are three aux input jacks on the factory video. One on each screen and one on the DVD player in the console. They use a 1/8 inch jack. You may be able to hook the output of the Eclipse into the factory DVD outputs and bypass it, or install a video switcher as mentioned to send whatever video source you want to the rear screens. I don't think there are RCA style jacks on the back of the DVD, so you would probably have to hardwire some connections.
