Hi all, has anyone heard of music coming from inside of an amplifier? I hooked up all the wires, and when the speakers were disconected, i could hear very scratchy music coming from inside the amplifier itself. i have never heard of this before, was wondering if it normal, or what could cause this. thanks (installing in 2003, alero)

Yes this happens a lot with some cheaper amplifiers that use an audio transformer.         Also happens on a few not so cheap amplifiers you can hear audio coming from the transformer in the power supply .

You are hearing the tiny band inside your amp.  When you play a CD it sends sheet music through the wires for the tiny band to play.  Your amp probably just doesn't have enough sound proofing to keep their output headed through the speaker wires is all.  Didn't you know this?  Be sure to feed them once in a while.  They like cheese - unless it's a Sony amp, then they like hairballs.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Damn that explains why my amps keep dying!!!  I never feed them!!!  Great I'm off to the grocery store.  Anyone know what they like in a kenwood amp?  :)
