My question is in a 94 Maxima with the factory Bose system in order to install an aftermarket HU and speakers. Do I have to rewire for the speakers or can I drop them right in without the Headache? Thanks in advance...

I am pretty sure you have to find the amp for the bose system and bypass it and rewire back to the deck harness. there probley isn't any wires for the speakers at the car harness. I have done a few cars with bose but it depends on what the system has I guess.

You can interface with the Bose as long as you hook up the remote.

However, I would be concerned about impedance issues if you go in high level. I have done it in the past and it can work but it's a crap shoot. Could burn out the headunits internal amplifier. Also could have noise issues and the problem of too much votlage going into the bose system. This will make it so the volume will only go low to a point so after the first notch of the volume control is as low as it gets.

Use an adj. 4 channel adaptor or bypass the bose. If you choose to bypass you should change out the speakers as well since the bose speakers are usually 2 ohm or less and that won't be good for the head unit either.

There's an amp at each of the speakers.  Each connector will have 4 wires.  2 are power and ground and the other 2 are the audio signal from the radio.  You'll have to splice into those for your signal for the speaker.  not a hard thing to do at all.

Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction on this one. My main concern was impendance issues and over loading the bose amps with to strong a signal from the aftermarket HU. Thanks a Mil!
