i just installed my hifonics bxi1206d . its running at 1ohm . the problem is that its not putting out full power . the gain on the amp needs to be 3/4 of the way up or more to even hear the sub . i went over the rca's and ground and it looks good . i tried to set the gains with a dmm and i can only get it up to 14.5 volts at full gain .on the calculater it says to set it to 34volts . something has to be wrong somewhere but i cant figure it out .

That right there could be your problem. Rather than setting the gain at 3/4 volume, you need to find the clipping point instead. Use a cd with some test tones. Start with the gains and volume at the lowest point. Slowly increase the volume until you hear distortion, and back off until it goes away. You can meter the headunit output at this point. Just be sure not to short the inner/outer conductors together. Now set your gain.
