I just bought a pair of 12" ONYX subs, rated at 400w rms each, I was told they can handle possible 500-550w rms each....I need an amp for these, they are dual voice coil 4ohm.  what amp do you guys recommend and how should I wire them?  I was thinking of wiring them parallel, which would give me a 1 ohm right?  if i'm wrong, please correct me, I can use all the help I can get

one more thing, i don't want to spend too much for the amp, something cheap but with nice solid performance....please help.  THANKS

I have two Kicker 12 Comp VR that are rated at 400 watts RMS. I have a JBL BP600.1 on these subs and they pound hard. You can get these online for under $200.00. If thats not enough for you, then try the bigger brother, the BP1200.1. Ive seen it online for $260.00. The 600.1 is underrated at 600 W RMS in a two ohm load. The 1200.1 is underrated at 1200 W RMS.
