I just bought 2 ma audio subs ma120xe, dvc's and a ma audio amp hk-2000d. The subs are 350 watts rms for each coil and the amp is rated 1500 watts at 14 volts. Does anyone think the amp is too much for the subs if i wire them for a 1ohm load.

First off, the subs are rated at 350 watts per speaker not per coil.  While that amp says it is rated for 1-ohm I bet it would sound a LOT better @ 4-ohms, which if I had to use this setup is how I'd wire it.  Regardless, if you want to wire for 1 ohm then set the gain very carefully for about 27 volts output you'll be OK and the amp sound still have a little head room.  It's MA Audio so don't expect the best sounding result.  It should thump though.

I think im going to get another 12 dvc,  do you think 2.66 ohms would work better. So 1050 rms for all the subs and at a 2.66 ohm looad on the amp, should thump harder than just the 2 subs right. is the wattage divided evenly between the subs, thanks

I'll post answer 2 my own question, 3 subs would be underpowered due to the 2.67 load on the amp, loss of wattage to the subs, so 2 at 4ohms sounds good

i seriously doubt underpowering those subs would be a bad thing. probably safer to underpower them than to give them the full power they are "rated" at.

Whatever you do, DO NOT let the white smoke leak out of the wires.....

VERY well said!! The MA Audio subs are over rated for RMS and MAX wattage. I would also use a multimeter and see just what the ohms really are for each coil. I have had alot of problems with these subs and with thier amps.

Sorry dude.
