I recently installed the following in my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac:

1 Alpine IVA-D310 DVD Head Unit

1 Sirius SIR-ALP1 Alpine Compatible Sirius Radio Tuner

1 Alpine KCA-420i iPod Adapter

1 Alpine MRP-F450 4 Channel Amp (for the highs)

4 Infinity Refrence 2-way 6x8 speakers to replace stock speakers

1 Rockford Fosgate Punch P325.1 for sub

1 Infinity Kappa 104.7w 10" sub (due to lack of space in vehicle)

I ran a toggle switch to override the DVD playback so that the passanger can watch DVD's while the vehicle is in motion.  Everthing worked fine when I first installed it and tested it.  The IVA-D310 Head Unit runs to the main brain box (for lack of a better word) which then runs the Ai-Net into the Sirius box (works great) and then branches to the iPod adapter (here is where the problem is).  When I plug in my iPod (80GB with latest sofware updates) the apple logo comes on but the KCA-420i does not power it nor does the iPod selection show on the head unit anymore.  After triple checking all connections I decided to order another KCA-420i to try it.  Same thing?  Do I need to change a setting on the head unit or does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on?  Any suggestions or halp would be greatly appriciated!!  Thanks in advance, Cameron.

oooh....ive seen this....my boss' ipod stopped showing up on our display one day....checked the ipod and it had no power....we charged it up and plugged it back in still nothing....we tried other ipods they all worked fine....boss bought another ipod and boom worked beautifully....he does not know why....but perhaps it needed an update or it was just junk????  have you tried other ipods?  we are primarily a home audio store and have ipod docking stations for yamaha and arcam equipment and the pod wouldnt work properly on those either...however it did connect to the pc without a problem....

Actually I went out the other day unhooked all the Sat Radio and iPod stuff.  Hooked it all back up and now everything works fine (fingers crossed).

AI Net is very finicky,,,you may have needed to reset the unit after getting everything installed.  Typically Alpine recommends XM/Sirius units to be the last piece in the chain,,,,good going on getting it to work for you,,,,

Thanks, I will keep that in mind.  I just ordered two headrest monitors and a review camera.  I also have the Alpine Blackbird which I plan on adding to the group once the cradle comes off backorder.  Have a Clarion DVD player, 1.5 Farad Phoenix Digital Cap, and am most likely going to use another Alpine MRP-F450 to run  the highs (same Infinity's as the Sport Trac has).  Right now the Mustang is running the Mach 460 6-Disc head unit, stock mach 460 amps, Infinty highs (4 6x8's) and a Kenwood Excelon 100W amp bridged at 1 OHM to 1 JL Audio 15W3. on the way for the other car (2001 Mustang GT) so I will have my hands full over the winter
