Amp inputs

Hey, Have been looking at many different ways of hooking up stereo. One of them is to have for example a computer with 6 channel audio out put, But i am wanting to know if the output from a PC is the correct power and rating for an amp ? As i would be having like front speakers on amp rear amp and then again with subs on amps. I thing windows XP has the capabilities to split it all up ???

Has any one tried this or is there no reason why it wouldn't work as long as you keep the load balanced ?

If your sound card has the 6 channel capabilities, it'll work fine, I've done it several times, for both home and car systems.

There will be no balancing of loads, and your sound card driver will do the proper signal processing, as long as the driver is installed properly. Just make certain your amplifiers are connected and loaded correctly, and go for it.

IMO, though, the car is FAR too small a venue for quality, true, multi-channel reproduction, not to mention it's highly complicated to be certain your delays are all set properly.

I completely agree with you there in regards to the car is too small but idealy i would like front and rear and also sub control.

This is quiet simple but cut-off points etc for output control is going to be heaps harder ...

Any one know any software that does cross-over control ??

let me try to find it but I do beleive I have something...
