can I get away with running 8 gauge wire instead of 10 gauge for power to the rockford 200s.  It's rated for 10 gauge but i already have 8 gauge wire ran im my car.  It has a 20 amp fuse on the amp.

The smaller the gauge the bigger the cable. So A 8 gauge wire is larger than 10 guage. You can use the 12volts wire gauge calculator to figure out what size cable you will need https://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp
