Hello, this is my first post here and I would like to start out by saying how much you guys have helped my out here with all the informative posts. With that being said....I need help, and ive tried searching the forums for the answer but I cant find it.
What im trying to do is run 4 6.5" 3-ohm svc 100w RMS 200w max speakers from audiobahn
amd60q to a 1600w 4ch amplifer
Vibe426 . Along with the 4 6.5"s I would also like to run 2 ~400w tweeters for the rear dash of my car. What I was thinking was that I could bridge the amp to 2 ch and use one for the 4 6.5s and the other chan for the 2 tweeters, but the problem is that I cant figure out how to match the impedances for both channels as I can only find 4 ohm tweeters. Does anyone have any suggestions? or does it even matter if both chans are matched?
The total setup I am going for is what I have mentioned along with 2 500w 10"s from audiobahn and 1-1000w 15" from audiobahn powered by a 2 ch 2000w amplifier from Lanzar. I drive a sedan and my trunk is filling up quickly so I would like to use only 2 amplifiers total if possible. I was also planning on using passive crossovers on each of the 6.5" mids mentioned. Would I be better off using 2-2way crossovers and have 2 6.5"s and 1 tweeter on each crossover and use a 2ch amp?

1. You will need both mid and tweeter in the front, too.
2. A component set is a mid and a tweeter which are controlled by a dedicated, engineered crossover network.
3. As the front is most important, you need a pair of components up front.
4. Components can be used for rear fill, as well.
5. One 4-channel amp will power front and back.
Your best route is to choose components, not individual mids and tweeters. This will ensure that you have proper crossovers. Match the fronts to each other, and match the rears, but the rears don't have to necessarily match the fronts (impedance, type or brand).
You are (I think I can say by the wording of your post) not proficient in building passive crossovers...so whether you already have some speakers on hand or not, you should go out and buy the best gear for your needs. BTW, two 4-ohm drivers (mid and tweeter) connected to the proper crossover is still a 4 ohm impedance.

Thanks for the help, Ive decided to go with 2 sets of ACS2093N from audiobahn and run it to another 2000W 4ch amplifier. The only worry that I have now is power consumption, I have a stock 130A alternator in my car with a yellowtop battery. I have yet to do the "Big 3" but I plan to do that very soon. If I just add all the amps on my fuses, this should give me a good idea of where am at in terms of power consumption right? One last question I have is if my 2.4 farad cap is enough to handle 2000w RMS. Thank you StevDart for the information youve posted.
