ok im buliding a sub box for 1 8" sub. its going under the rear seat of a 2001 ford f150 x cab. the demensions need to be 17.5 wide x 6.5 high x 11.5 deep using 3/4 " mdf. I know i need to subtract for the matterial but i cant figure out where to take it off the demensions??? do i take the 1.5" off each board im cutting????  with the oustside demsions and woofer displacement i should get  a little more than .33 cubic foot.

that box is     .463

To figure it out yourself   you need to subtract 1.5 inches from each measurement  then multiply length  x  width  x  height         then take that number and divide it by  1728      this will give you cubic feet
