Hi, just installed an aftermarket radio to replace the oem in my Chevy Cavalier 1997. My speedometer and odometer doesnt work anymore, with some search, i saw that a vss wire passed through the old connector. Something linked with passlock ? What to do !

you need to check some fuses. The VSS is not in the radio harness.

Did you cut the radio harness or use an adapter?

Definatly check fuses then maybe pull off your gauge cluster and see if you did not disconnect anything or tug on anything behind there.

Check your wiring at the radio. The VSS wire is at the radio if you had an upscale cassette or CD radio. The VSS wire is GREEN / WHITE. Make sure that it is not hooked to anything and is taped off. Double check all other wires as some duplicate colors are used. The wrong wire can fry your radio as they are for lamp circuits and not speaker wires. This is why an adaptor plug should always be used unless you have done many before.
