Hi,

I have a 1993 grand cherokee with a stock deck and i'm putting in an amp and subs with a hi low pass and have everything hooked up but the remote wire...
I have not found a detailed wiring guide of my stock deck and am wondering where my remote wire goes.

Thanks

The chances are good the stock deck does not have a remote. You can check with a meter to see if any wires put out 12v when the deck is on..and 0 when the deck is off..but doubt you'll find any on a 93 jeep. The easiset way is connect the remote to accesory so it turns on and off with the key.

Another option is a "remote power adaptor"..DEI has one for about 11 bucks. It uses the audio signal to send power to the remote of the amp....if you have any thumps from turn on/off using accessory you might want to consider that piece...delay units to prevent turn on/off thumps do not always work in my experience.

Another option is to put the amp on a 2 wire toggle switch. wire one side to accessory..the other to the amps remote.

Hell get a PAC TrunkLOC...it is a line output converter and has a remote wire

Good suggestion azn..great piece if he's not already stuck with a regular LOC.

Nouse, I am curious how the relay eliminates the thump..I have never tried that technique but I would think the relay would energize and send the remote at basically the same time as the acc alone since it is triggered by the acc..am I right?
