I need an opinion on the JBL A6000GTI and Memphis 16-MCD4KW amplifiers. They're quite difficult for me to compare considering the fact that Memphis appears to have opted out of the CEA 2006 compliance. I'm not sure if Memphis did or not. I'm going to look their website over again to see if I might have missed it as I often do. I don't have the funding to continue to play around so I have to cut to the chase. I like both Memphis and JBL equally, but JBL talks a bit more about their amplifier. I heard a dB drag world champion say that the Memphis amp was quite an impressive amp, but he didn't even mention the JBL. I trust the JBL Crown combo because I've seen them in action in the professional scene. I have never seen JBL halfway do anything. I like how the JBL amp can parallel the two channels. I like having pretty high output at all impedances. I really somebody had something like the JL Slash series, but with a higher output and capable of delivering the same power all the way down to 1/4 ohm. I know that what I am looking for doesn't exist, but I wish I didn't have to match the speakers to the amplifier everytime. I wish I could get a paticular power output no matter the speaker combination. I'm thinking that with the Memphis, I will stick to either 1 ohm or 1/2 ohm setups and that with JBL, it won't matter. I think I'm leaning towards the Memphis only because I'd be able to step up into higher competition ranks quicker. I think I can get a Memphis for $1700 whereas the JBL might cost me $6000. What do you think?

The big thing on the Memphis is that it has a 95dB S/N ratio. I'm guessing the THD+N% to be 1%. I know for sure that at 1ohm on 14.4volts that you will achieve at least 4K watts.
The main problem with the JBL is that the S/N ratio is setting at 65dB. I know THD+N% to be at 1% and that everything was done on 14.4volts. I trust their numbers to be honest.
The two biggest things are the price tag and the S/N ratio. I'm not sure if the Memphis group opted to go with the CEA 2006 compliance, but I do know that their equipment rivals all their competitors. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you always get what you pay for!!! now with that said i have seen the JBL amp in action. the thing is amazing. now it comes in a crate and practically needs a genereator but the thing just has power for days...but i would reccomend it for just compition use.

actually the memphis will put out more than the JBL if u drop the impedence and give it 17volts. the biggest complaint i have heard about the memphis is very power hungry...
