i have a 1997 dodge avenger and it has stock 6 1/2 component speakers (6 1\2 midwoofer in door, and 2 1\2 tweeter in dash) i want to replace that with my cerwin vega 6 1\2 components but i need to know where the wire splits in two... i checked the factory to sterio adapter and theres only 2 sets of wires one for the right and one for the left so it has to split somewhere else i need to find that because i want to use the factory wireing with the CV crossover. the wire isint dasychained because the 2 spekers on the right have difrent color wire... if anyone can help i woud greatly apreciate it Brad Richrer

Hi Brad, I'd run new wires to each speaker, especially if you ever intend to put the vehicle back to stock and it would likely take less time to install than modifying the original harness. the12volt

ok that i can do, and your right... but the other problem i have is that there are no adapters for the spekers in the doors or the tweeters in the dash the holes are not in the same place as my 6 1\2 mid woofer and the factory tweeter is 2 1\2 in as opposed to my 1 1\2 CV tweeter

Hi Brad, you can purchase adapters made by Metra or fabricate them yourself out of Kydex, ABS, or any rigid material you can cut and shape to fit the opening and speaker. Since you don't need to worry about sealing the front wave from the back wave with tweeters, the easiest solution for those is to make a bracket out of cheese strap (radio brace) to mount them. https://www.metraonline.com/productcatalog.htm the12volt

thanks the12volt but metra dosent make thoes adapters, and i wanted to make my own adapters but i dont know where to buy sheats of abs i tryed car install places, hardware stores, and hobby shops... if you could tel me where it would be posible to purches either in a store or online.... thanks

Hi Brad, try marine shops or the Radio Shack in your area or even search for it online. Also check the Yellow pages under "Plastic". At worse, with a few local phone calls, you should be able to find it. the12volt
