I've just tried to wire a Pioneer DEH-313R into an L reg Isuzu Trooper. All the wires are clearly marked and I'm pretty sure I have it connected correctly I even came on to this website to check the wiring diagram in case they had been marked incorrectly and everything looks fine. The cd player turns on ok and plays fine but the back of the player gets very hot very quickly. What have I done wrong? I would really appreciate any help. Thanks

Is that an older model? Buy it used? Where did you get it? It could simply be defective.

Its one a friend gave me I put it in my last car and it worked fine. I think my friend bought it new so I dont think its more than a couple of years old. It has been lying around the house for a couple of months as my new car already had a stereo i'm trying to put it in my dad's car.

Usually when head units overheat it is either because you are trying to use speakers with too low an impedance load, or the HU is defective, or the installation simply does not provide enough cooling for it (not enough space inside the dash). What speakers are you trying to use?
