ive just hooked up new head unit in a 95 ford windstar and poof--- no power, all conections are made properly, fuses not blown, does anyone have a solution?

Have you checked the fuses in the vehicle?  Brian

check 12v, switched 12v and ground- if all three are fine, its a problem with the radio

Be sure to ohm out all the fuses in the head unit.  You might have gotten a bad fuse.  Somtimes they break to the left or right and you cant tell by just looking at them.  If you check them with a meter and they read ok I would also agree that you have a bum unit.  Good luck.  Brian
