I currently run Diamond D-6 5.25" comps in stock dash location of '06 Jeep Wrangler. The 5.25 comps are very thin sounding powered by my Alpine PDX 4.150 and crossed over at 80hz. Anyone familiar with Jeep Wranglers have seen the sound pods that hang from the rollbar and sit just above and behind the driver and passenger. What would the likely result be if I used 6.5" woofers for rear fill in those pods? This would be just woofers and no tweeters. My goal is to obtain more upper to mid bass. Any ideas? Thanks!

if you want better sound, get a different vehicle. lol. jeeps are terrible for sound (atleast the standard type jeeps). you can try the pods.

or you could try a pair of kick pods for your jeep, using 6.5 compoents up front.
I dont know what year jeep you have, but more then likely there being made for a reasonable cost

I think you'd be pleasantly surprised at what I've accomplished so far. I'm just picky about sound quality. As stated above; it's a Wrangler.

I was reading one of the stickys here that really seemed to turn people away from using kick pods. I'd like to find someone local to build some fiberglass pods on my doors. I've already seen some of the local butchers at work and my new Wrangler looks like swiss cheese under the carpet from all the goof ups.

Well did you do anything to the stock locations to make it sound better??
Like apply sound deadening?? Possibly try poly-bagging
