Hi, just wondering if anyone knew the best place to wire a power cable in a 94 VW Passat before I start taking large bits of car apart?
Thanks, Ben

I have just acquired a 94 passat, which has a few electrical problems, but for free you cant argue. I want to change the headunit tho, as the present one only plays tapes. The headunit presently fitted is a Sony XR-6600RDS. 1. How do i get the headunit out without the keys? When I do get it out, 2. what am I going to find behind? The new headunit i want to fit has an ISO connector... I am not sure that the sony headunit is actually the original, in which case will i find an ISO or VW wiring?
Also, separately, I am going to fit an amp, any one know the best place to wire the main power cable thru the firewall?

 Cheers, Ben

I am wondering where to position the amp on my 94 Passat; I use the fold down seats sometimes so I dont want to clutter the boot, and I am going to use a Speakon speaker connector so that the sub can be easily disconnected. How about under the passengers seat? Any other ideas of places? Good bad points of different places?
 Cheers, Ben
