all right i have a rockford fosgate power series bd1000 amp that i bought brand new about 4 years ago. which to my knowledge would make it gen. 2. it has been an awesome amp for me and i love it to death but as of recently it has been cutting out constantly. now i know that this may sound like a power problem but i have found that the amp gets constant power and audio signal. the one thing that did bother me was when i go and grab for the bass knob and wiggle and pull on the chord to the bass knob it comes back and works properly. now... i think that what i need is to either replace that chord or the whole knob and chord. the question is... i have seen so many different bass knobs made by rockford. will any of them work. i ask this because of all the knobs i have seen, none have looked like mine.
the ones that i see are rectangular in shape, mine is an oval with ridges all around it
can anyone help?
all the rockford ones will be interchangable, memphis is the only company that I know of that makes thiers any diffrent from a normal phone cable and Pot

yes, the knobs are interchangable... to an extent.
older amps used a 4 line cable, just like a phone cord. newer amps use an 8 line, just like a computer networking cable. if you have a 4 line amp, you need a 4 line knob.. and vice versa. you should be able to find them on ebay easy enough..
