i've purchased and am about to install my 4000 w 2ch amp
with 2 15" subs At 2000 w peak, but i'm only installing one sub for now.
i'm going to use a line output converter and tap into the front door speaker, and add a volume control.
do i need to worry about dimming lights or any other unwanted issues with my setup...?

Ummm... Audiobahn, right? If so, the answer to your question is "Yes."
Suggestion - return all of that stuff, and buy some real equipment, maybe not as "high powered" as those outlandish claims, but respectable and real power for about the same money. Audiobahn is garbage, and you will not hear many (if ANY) people disagreeing with that statement here on this forum...
I would look into an HO alternator, and upgrade all of the power cables under your hood.

Sounds more like MA Audio crap to me or some other flea market variety. Then again could it be some uber high end gear?

If the amp really does put out 4000 watts, you will need to be thinking about alternator upgrades and an additional battery or batteries. Most of the amplifiers that I know of that ratings like that won't come close to actually doing it. I'm not saying that there aren't amps that will, but just not very many.

Sorry, I meant an alternator upgrade. Also, If you are talking about the previously mentioned brands: Lanzar, Pyle, MA, Audiobahn, etc. They probably won't do anything near what they say they will. ------------- Chris R.

If it were the "uber high gear" he would not have posted, and he would have mentioned RMS watts. not peak, take the MA or audiobahn/pipe crapola out of your mind, and get some real RMS watts. even somehting like 400-600RMS will probably be clearer and more powerful than a 1134690346 watt audiobahn amp and subs.

OK, it is not a 2-channel amp it is a mono amp. But assuming you really have purchased it and really want to use it, it can draw approximately 200 or so amps from your alternator with a 4-ohm load. You need to upgrade your charging system to at least a 300-amp alternator (so you can still supply the loads of the car) and 1/0 gauge cables throughout for power, ground and the big 3. In your car (since the battery is in the rear) that may cost about the same as this amp. Take the car to a professional car audio installer and get some help. Grounding is a major issue, make sure the connetion are good, you dont want anything to short out...
in that case, make sure fuses and protection devices are there...
