I have two eclipse 12" subs, and I'm going to wire them today. What I need to know is which is positive and which is negative? Left or right?

Also, Each sub has four little tabs on the terminal, two for postitive, and two for negative. My question is do I have to use all four? I'm wiring it in Parrelle so I get 2ohms, I don't really need all four tabs.

Remember, these are single coil subs.

Thanks.

Check that out on how to properly wire subs. Which model of Elipse subs do you have? What amp are you using to power them. The reason they have four connections is because they are dual voice coil subs.

I thought dual coil subs had two terminals all together? I'll take a photo when I get back home tonight.

Ok sorry i misread your post. What your saying is that the subs have one positive and one negative, but each one has two places to connect the speaker wires? If that is what you mean, you wouldnt have to connect each one it is just there for you to make it easier to daisy chain them.

Alrighty thanks. Now can you, or someone tell me which side is positive, and which is negative?

dielon, forget about taking a picture.  Post the model of the Eclipse sub you are talking about.  If it is a dual voice coil sub, it will have pos and neg inputs for each coil.  When this forum knows the model, we can look at the sub.  If you have a manual, read it.  If you don't understand it or don't have one, you can get one online.

For pos and neg, usually there is a + and - on or near the terminals.  Or there may be a red or purple dot near the positive terminal.  At any rate (and ignore this if what I say here is too confusing) you can use either of the terminals for pos, and the other for neg.  AS LONG AS you are consistent with all coils on both subs;  that is to say, you can label them yourself as long as you make each sub identical.  Then wire according to the diagram.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Pretty much on all speakers if you are looking at the magnet and the terminals are on top...the left one is positive is right is negative...pretty sure on that
