just wondering if anybody know how i could possibly wire a car stereo to be powered by a regular 120v plug in my home. just been experimenting here, i have a adapter that goes from a home plug to cigarette lighter adapter and i wired it to a deck but it shuts down at high volume
anything helps

You just need a power supply rated for more current... It'll work fine.

does the ga. of the wire matter??? just want to make something like you see in the audio stores with the deck, speakers and subs.

Yea you would set it up normally just as you would in a car, just make sure you have a DC power supply with enough amperage an it will be fine.

radioshack has some good ac converters.
