hey there.. I recently got a new deck, hooked up my amp etc...

while leaving my speakers on... and sub running, i took off a pair of speaker cables, and tried to get it into the parcel shelf of my car.(to get them to the 6.9's).. doing soo, the wires hit the metal of the car... little "fizz" sound, and my amp turned off.. doodie myself thinking  blew my amp.. turned of the ignition, then turned it back on... amp turned on all sweeet and hooked up the cables... now the problem

when my car is in ACC mode, and the cd player is going, the sound from the speakers/SUB is beautiful, no problems at all.. when i start the ignition and the car is running, the 6.9's in the back(hooked up 2 6.9's and a pioneer 12 inch sub to the 4ch/amp).. the 6.9's make this whistling, wizzing sound... its sort of intune to the reving of the car... when i pressed the accelerator, the whistling rate increases, then wen i let go the whizzing comes back down with the RPM ... i checked my ground... it was ok... i never had this problem, i,m thinking i fkt something in the amp wen i was doing doodie with the amp on...(i,m an idiot, but owell)

does any1 know what it is?

hope ive just mixed 1 or 2 wires up.... but yer, all feedback is great

yesss sound does come from my 6.9's! when its low i can hear the whizzing, when i pump it, u cant....

my rca's are running down the left side of my car... and the power cables down the right side (holden calais VR 93)

as for the rcas there not the best onez, but they do the job... i never had this problem with my old deck..... got the pioneer 3850mp, whats this ground loop thing man.... ummz, i got my cd player grounded to the stock wire... i cut of that little clip thing and attached the wire to the stock ground... as the the amp.... i sanded down a part of the inside of the boot, drilled a hole, and drilled in the bit....

it didnt ust to whine like that...

because of new deck?

or because i scrwewed around with the amp, when it was on and the speaker wires hit the body of the car..

and can someone please explain what a ground loop is:)

once again, ive had this system hooked up, with no problem, with my neck deck.... anyway... see what u guys type, thanks for the interest

Is it safe to guess it's a Pioneer deck? If your sound wasn't there with the old head unit, then the new deck has an internal grounding problem. What you can do is ground the outer part of the rca's at both ends (deck side and amp side), or use a headunit without these symptoms. Another possibility is your gain is set too high on the amp.

Tell the amp to smarten up, go to the dentist and get that gap in it's teeth fixed so that it does not whistle any more. After you do that, the problem is the notoriously bad grounding in the Pioneer cd player.  Turn the gain down on the amp and do the recommended grounding as indicated in the post above.

what the hell r u saying about the amp and the dentist man... lol,

also what i got diff then the other deck, is the the old deck had 4 preouts, with the pioneer (it only has 2 sub/pre outs) i have 2 spiltterS attached to make it four... could it be anything to do with that?

i think i found out what i fkt up on.... will fix when i get time 2 fix it!

CHECK THIS PICTURE OUT... i made it quick, so dont diss the purple sub

ATM its set up like figure 1, but i think it should be like figure 2... would result it way less noise, what u guys think.... i so think thats my problemm..

No, assuming the cables are good, that will not make a difference other than expense. Like stated above, the problem is the deck. If you ground the outer portions of the rca's and the noise goes away, you've pinpointed the problem to the noisy Pioneer.

HEYY all, today i grounded the rca cables, from near the deck only, not on amp side... and wallah, all noise gone....+ seems like there is extra power goin thru.. dunno..

so what is the problem now... did it mean that my deck is funny? should i go 4 a exchange under warranty? or will it be fine.. i,m certainly happy with the sound quality now...

It's up to you, but I'm strongly biased against Pioneer decks for this reason. What you did was a "band-aid" approach fix, but it got rid of the noise. I mention this because grounding the cables would not be necessary if the deck had a good internal ground to begin with (exactly why I would take it back).

You paid extra for an extended warranty, why not use it?    What if you take it back, and they don't have another one in stock (on backorder), will they tell you they have to send yours in for repair? What if you go with another brand, but then decide you don't like the controls, etc.- can you then return that one as well? What are the stipulations to your warranty? There are a lot of "what-if's" that need to be weighed first. You can discuss your different options with your salesperson. If you're happy with the functions and all, you can leave it alone. Ultimately, it's your decision.

I'm not trying to scare you or sway you one way or another, I just want to be sure you think about it first.

Your deck has a blown fuse on the bottom of the circuit board.   You can fix this problem by soldering a wire to the shield of your RCA cable and grounding the other end of the wire.     Below is a link to a picture that can help you with this.

geepherder... as for the warranty thing... i think its fine now... its not a real biggy... if it does it again, ill take it back... lol or ill wait for the screen to get the hell stracthed... then ill take it back and get a new one.. they have them in stock..:) DEH 3850-MP or something, cool deck. i ust to tave a dvd player that i brought from ebay... for like 100 buks, worked awesome.. took a little long to load up a cd...dvd, or mp3, only thing was that the clip that holds the detacheble face on was cheapo.. and broke.. i glued it back.. after a while.. need to take my car in to the panel beaters.. one of the young fellas wanted to hear my system... so he pulled down the face.. and in the process broke the clip.. they think they broke it.. so they gave me some good cash.:posted_image went out and brought a brand name cd player with money to spare! wohooo lol,
