I installed my infinity kappas in my door.  Before installation, I removed  a black plastick(what im thinking was a spacer) that fit around the cones of my 6x8's. They were only secured there by a little piece of scotch tape. There were no screw holes to secure it on top of speaker.

Is this a spacer bracket  to pull magnet a little farther from door, and push cone a little closer to the grill of interior door?
