Hello My name is Rob and I am new here to 12 volt. By the way Merry Christmas to all.

For a Christmas gift I recieved a Kicker zx 750.1 amplifier
and I have 2 10 inch Infinity Perfect Kappas 10.1s.

The subs are rated at 350 rms and they are single coil 4 ohm subs. When wired in parallel they will be 2 ohms.

The amp give 750 watts at 2 ohms. Now I know I should probably start looking for a high output alternater and within the soon future I will upgrade the big 3.

But this car is still new. Its a 2006 scion tc and I am still paying it off. So until I can get more money should I wait with installing the subs and amp or will it be safe to run?

Also being new to this kind of stuff can you guys recommened what you would do if you were installing this setup? Would you use distribution blocks, what kind of fuses, would relays be involved? Anything that you could help me out with I would greatly appreciate. So thank you all for your time and assistance and Have a great day and Merry Christmas.posted_image

A new alternator is prolly not needed nor is a distribution blocks...a d-block is mainly used for multiple amps and one run of power wire.

That setup is fine...just because the amp is rated at 750 watts at 2 ohms doesn't mean it will put out that much power all the time...that is what the gain control is for.

But all you need is a good quality 4 gauge wiring kit.

I personally like https://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KOL-AK4

I have this kit and it comes with everything you need.

Oh yeah and UPGRADE YOUR BIG THREE!!!!

Yes I would do the big 3... u can never go wrong doing that. Bigger alt? not really needed for that setup. Like aznboi said a 4 gauge wiring kit will do. good luck!

Ok thanks guys I appreciate it. The reason I was asking about the distribution blocks is because later in the future.... much later. I plan on upgrading to components and that will require another amp. Also I figured if i attach a block later on when I install some interior lights it will be easier just to connect to that.

Thank you all for the recommendation on the kit from the Knukonceptz website I am looking into that, as we speak posted_image.

Anything else that could be recomended?

P.S. Also I forgot when I upgrade my Big 3 will I have to change all the wiring or do I just add to the existing wiring taking into account that this is a new car?
Once again thank you all.

You don't have to change it....just run new wires and leave the factory ones intact...I would ditch the factory battery negative to chassis ground though
