I installed a Pioneer DEH-P6800MP in my range rover classic, there is no illumination wire on the car so i didnt hook up the illumination wire on the radio to anything.when i turned on the radio i didnt get any sound from the speakers is the illumination wire the problem? if so what should i hook it up to?

Any help will be appriciated.

The illumination wire is unrelated- it's function is merely to dim the display a predetermined amount when the parking lights are on. You can connect this to a parking light wire if you want that function.

It seems like you have a factory amp that isn't being powered on. It may be as simple as connecting the blue or blue/white wire in the harness. Blue is usually power antenna, but it's sometimes the amp turn on lead in the Metra harnesses.
