I have a 1998 escort zx2 with premium sound package. So it has cd changer in trunk and an amp under drivers seat. All of which have never been touched. I need to wire in RCA connectors for the sub amp I will install. However, none of the wiring diagrams or colors I have seen match, including the haynes manual and online material.
I believe I am supposed to wire the RCA connectors into my speaker wires, but I can't find them behind my radio or at the amp. I have tried the battery trick. Do I have to wire the RCA connectors behind the radio or can I wire the connectors to the rear speaker wires in the trunk?
Don't simply hook up rca connectors to your speaker wires. Doing so will ultimately cause damage to your amp. Pick up a line out converter from a local retailer. Tell them what vehicle you have, and what you intend to do, and they'll set you up with the right one.
You can connect the line out converter directly to the rear speaker wires.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
