hey guys was looking for some advice.
I intall a kicker zx700.5 on a accord 03 lx. I used the LOC on the amp and I'm getting engine noise. I used the wire from my rear speakers for high level input to my amp.
My ground is good, and I only get the sound when the car is on and if the high level inputs are plug into the amp if I disco the High level input from the amp I get no engine noise. I get the engine noise on all speackers. I was thinking maybe I need to put in an loc and not use the amps loc? But Im no expert on this any suggestions? And if I do need a seperate LOC any recomendation on one that has a good noise suppressor?

Yes, try an loc. High level inputs tend to be noisy. Your local retailer should have an loc for your application. You mention you've checked the ground. It's a good practice to check the factory ground cables, too. Also an improperly set gain (too high) can/will also exhibit noise as well.

do I need an loc with noise cancellation or it does not matter?

Just get a high quality loc and it shouldn't matter. Many have a wire you can ground if noise is present, but I've never had a need to use it (and I've also heard hooking it up sometimes makes noise). Usually noise is due to one of the above reasons I pointed out.

I agree that an aftermarket LOC, especially one touted as "high quality", is better to use than the amp's built-in high level converter. But with either one, do this: twist the input wires that you attached to the OEM speaker wires. The twist is + wire and - wire around each other, about 1 to 1 1/2 twists per inch. This should effectively eliminate induced noise into this vulnerable length of signal input wiring.
