Seeing as this is the only forum that I could find where people know about nak, I have a question. How does the PA-2004 compare to the van Gogh 500.4 in terms of SQ? Also do the specs of the PA-504 and the PA-2004 make them that much different, or one better than the other?
On a side note I am currently running a PA-504 and I love the SQ. I am just looking for more power.
Thanks

Nakamichi amplifiers are generally much higher quality than anything from Soundstream. I'd take the PA-2004 any day of the week.

Funny comparison you have, as I own and use the Nak 2004 and my co-worker uses the Soundstream. We always argue about whose amp is better. His look a bit on the "bling-bling" side where the Nak is way more classy. The Nak was built by Zed, a reputable build house, they are responsible for some great amps in the past. I feel like the soundstream specs are bit questionable, but I have no way of proving this statement, it just happens that these amps were built during the time that soundstream was undergoing some changes, more towards the flahsy look era.

Thanks for the response. The reason why I asked this question is I had owned a vga 500.4 previously, and ran them with infinity kappa's. I now have the Nak pa-504 and run them with CDT classics. I thought the VGA sounded good but the Nak sounded better. I am now wondering if it is the nak that made the difference or are the CDT's better than the Kappas?
Thanks

The speakers themselves will make a bigger, more noticable difference in sound. The difference the amps make is usually undetectable to the untrained ear.
