Quick question.........

If I run a pair or subs in parallel and connect them to a mono amp will my amp power essentially be cut in half.?

(ie. Run 2 4ohm DVC subs in parallel (1 ohm load) and my amp is 500W at 1 ohm, am I getting 500W to each sub or 250W to each sub?)

Your amp can put out whatever it can put out.  If you connect one speaker to it, all the power will be used by one speaker.  If you connect two, the available power will be split between them.
